FAQ

PINS:

  • why do pins cost as much as they do?
i am charging about the same amount for my pins as i generally see other people charge for similar size pins. i try to give preorder a discount if i reach over my minimum as a thank you, so preorder if you want cheaper pins! please don't complain to me about my costs. i am a poor minimum wage worker who can't afford things on my own :(i'm not trying to make profit off pins. i don't plan to make any money on them, i just want them to be created!

  • why don't you 1) order less quantity to make it cheaper? 2) find another place to order from?

1) most pin factories make you order a MINIMUM of 100 pins for each design. this makes the total cost a set amount that i have no control over.

2) the majority of pins factories are in china. there's not a lot of easy-to-find info on pricing and all that without a ton of research and mostly contacting multiple factories that most likely don't have their own websites and open info. i am unsure of how to properly find, contact, and communicate with what i want. other pin makers never post about how or where they get pins made, so i have no sources to use. so i went with a US site that does the contacting to the china factory they partnered with for me so it's easier. i just have to fill out a form on their website and attach my art picture. i don't think this makes much difference in the cost.

(if anyone has experience and knowledge and wants to share with me you can contact me!)

  • will you post a physical pin sample before i order/preorders end/you make the pins?
unfortunately, priobably not. most pin factories don't mail a pin sample before you buy (because of that 100 limited quantity thing) and will only send a picture of final pin sample after payment, which most likely will be after preorders close. i will post it on my twitter account when i receive the picture.

there's also usually not the option to purchase a single pin, and if there is, it costs up to half the total order cost. so my samples for preorder will only be my art/digital samples until i am sent a proof picture from the factory. but i promise to work with them to get you the best quality pins possible!

for any stock sale, physical samples will be provided, as i will have received the pins by then.

  • why is there a minimum preorder amount and what happens if you don't reach the preorder goal?
getting pins produced is very expensive. even a single design costs a lot. i can't afford this on my own, and i also don't want to try to save enough money just to invest that much and risk no one buying a single pin and losing all that money, and being stuck with 100 pins no one wants. i am only willing to pay half the cost out of pocket for a smaller amount of preorders.

preorders and interest surveys are a way artists see how much interest there is in their pins and if we're able to gather enough money to fund the production without having to invest our own money into it first! your payment for the pins pays for the production costs! usually in this case, we don't make any money off the orders.

the minimum is how many pins i would need to sell to be able to afford the rest of the cost out of my own pocket.

IF this number is not met, pin production will be cancelled (or postponed until further notice) and all orders will be FULLY refunded! ordering is a money back guarantee in this case. so you don't have to worry about being afraid to preorder. if you hold off and don't, then it makes it harder to reach the minimum. i need U!!!

  • can i be refunded if i change my mind before pins are made?
refunds will not be issued for preorders if pins end up being produced. only cancelled preorders will be refunded! only buy if you are 110% sure!!!!
